Tiers and limits
Subscription tiers, limits, and pricing are defined in the backend database and may change over time. Your Vigil dashboard is the authoritative source for the current tier definitions.
Upgrading¶
To Pro¶
- Go to Account → Subscription
- Click Upgrade to Pro
- Choose billing cycle (monthly/annual)
- Complete payment
Payment Methods¶
Bitcoin (Recommended)¶
Pay with Bitcoin for true privacy:
- Select tier and billing cycle
- Receive Bitcoin invoice
- Pay to provided address
- Subscription activated after 1 confirmation
Benefits: - Completely anonymous - No personal payment data - Discount may be available depending on tier configuration
Credit Card¶
Traditional payment option:
- Select tier and billing cycle
- Enter card details
- Subscription activated immediately

Billing¶
Monthly Billing¶
- Charged on the same day each month
- Can cancel anytime
- Refund policies may vary
Annual Billing¶
- Charged once per year
- 10% discount vs monthly
- Cancellation/refund policies may vary
Bitcoin Payments¶
For Bitcoin subscriptions:
- Invoice sent 7 days before due date
- Payment window: 7 days
- Grace period: 3 days after due date
- Service paused if payment not received
Managing Your Subscription¶
Viewing Details¶
- Go to Account → Subscription
- See:
- Current tier
- Billing cycle
- Next payment date
- Payment method
Changing Billing Cycle¶
- Go to Account → Subscription
- Click Change Billing Cycle
- Select monthly or annual
- Confirm change
Updating Payment Method¶
- Go to Account → Subscription → Payment Method
- Update card or Bitcoin address
- Save changes
Cancellation¶
How to Cancel¶
- Go to Account → Subscription
- Click Cancel Subscription
- Confirm cancellation
- Access continues until end of billing period
What Happens¶
- Subscription remains active until period ends
- No further charges
- Downgraded to Free tier after expiration
- Data preserved for 30 days
Reactivating¶
Can reactivate anytime:
- Go to Account → Subscription
- Click Reactivate
- Complete payment
- Immediate access restored
Feature Limits¶
When you reach tier limits:

Solution: Upgrade to higher tier
Grandfathered Pricing¶
If pricing changes, existing subscribers keep their current rate.
