Notification Channels

Vigil supports multiple notification channels to ensure you receive alerts in the way that works best for you.

Available Channels

Email

Traditional email notifications with detailed transaction information.

Pros: - Universal, reliable - Works offline (receive when connected) - Easy to search and archive

HTTP callbacks to your server for programmatic integration.

Pros: - Full automation - HMAC signed for security - Integrate with your systems

Encrypted direct messages to your Nostr identity.

Pros: - Maximum privacy - Decentralized - No email required

Cons: - Requires Nostr client - Newer technology

Multi-Channel Setup

Why Use Multiple Channels

  1. Redundancy - Backup if one channel fails
  2. Different Use Cases - Email for review, webhook for logging
  3. Priority - Nostr for immediate, email for digest

Personal Wallet:

Channel Limits

Channel limits depend on your subscription tier and are shown in-app under Account → Subscription.

Adding a Channel

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications
  2. Click Add Channel
  3. Select channel type
  4. Configure settings
  5. Test the channel
  6. Save

Testing Channels

After adding a channel, verify it's working by sending a test notification:

  1. Go to Settings → Notifications
  2. Find your channel in the list
  3. Click the Test button
  4. Verify you received the test notification

Test notifications help ensure your channel is configured correctly before relying on it for real alerts.

Managing Channels

Edit Channel

  1. Click the edit icon on the channel
  2. Modify settings
  3. Save changes

Disable Channel

  1. Toggle the channel off
  2. Channel remains configured but inactive

Delete Channel

  1. Click the delete icon
  2. Confirm deletion
  3. Channel is removed
