Managing Wallets¶
This guide covers day-to-day wallet management in Vigil.
Viewing Wallet Details¶
Navigate to Wallets → [Wallet Name] to see:
Overview Tab¶
- Status - Active, Scanning, or Error
- Network - Mainnet, Testnet, or Signet
- Balance - Total confirmed balance (if UTXOs detected)
- Type - xpub, Descriptor, or Static
Addresses Tab¶
View all derived/monitored addresses:
- Address string
- Derivation path (for HD wallets)
- Balance
- Transaction count
- First/Last seen
Transactions Tab¶
Recent transactions involving this wallet:
- Transaction ID
- Type (Deposit/Withdrawal)
- Amount
- Confirmations
- Timestamp
UTXOs Tab¶
Current unspent transaction outputs:
- UTXO reference (txid:vout)
- Address
- Amount
- Confirmations
Editing a Wallet¶
What You Can Edit¶

Changing the Name¶
- Go to Wallets → [Wallet Name]
- Click the edit icon next to the name
- Enter the new name
- Click Save
Adjusting Gap Limit¶
- Go to Wallets → [Wallet Name] → Settings
- Change the Gap Limit value
- Click Save
Note
Increasing the gap limit will derive additional addresses to monitor.
Deleting a Wallet¶
Permanent Action
Deleting a wallet removes all monitoring data. This cannot be undone.
- Go to Wallets → [Wallet Name] → Settings
- Scroll to Danger Zone
- Click Delete Wallet
- Confirm by typing the wallet name
- Click Confirm Delete
What Gets Deleted¶
- All derived addresses
- Transaction history
- Alert rules for this wallet
- Theft Shield configuration (if enabled)
- Per-wallet notification preferences
What Is Preserved¶
- Global notification preferences
- Account settings
- Other wallets
Import Multiple Wallets¶
Currently, wallets must be added individually. Bulk import is planned for a future release.
